I have brought this up with Joel before and we never reached a closure. While playing an armchair lawyer trying to make language more explicit in a document on this list, I am worried about people who read RFCs like some religious scripture. This has bitten me in the past, so it will be hard for me to stop bringing it up. And so in that spirit: Last paragraph of section 4 (before 4.1): ** "It is not expected that ... will be exchanged over the wire" - What is the relevance of that information? Can we get rid of it? ** "The model will serve as an important reference ... for design and development ..." The "development" part bothers me. It may be misconstrued as have other RFCs. Can we tame it down or emphasize the information model (design) aspect over the data model (close to the wire/development) aspect? cheers, jamal
