BTW, https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/recent says 868 Internet-Drafts (26.9 % of 3226) were submitted during the last 7 days (approx. 284 of those were -00 drafts).

4 hours after the deadline we now have 3226 active drafts.

A graph ChatGPT made from some rather gappy and not reliably timed data (1id-abstract.txt over time) I actually do have, below.
Interestingly, the 3-per-year periodic peaks now are after the meetings (don’t have that number for IETF-126 yet, of course):

122 2025-03-12: 2237
123 2025-07-26: 2309 ~+70
124 2025-12-10: 2406 ~+100
125 2026-04-22: 2697 ~+290
126 2026-07-07: 3226 ~+530

My suspicion that this number has been trending up lately appears to be more than confirmed.
Particularly in 1H2026.
