A definition of the word "political" [1] is: "relating to the things 
people do to gain an advantage.  Here's a sentence from Pete: "And 
yet we wonder why it's so difficult to even have these discussions in 
this organization, let alone make a change, on these topics."  I 
agree with that as it matches with what has been said on this mailing 
list since a very long time.

Person A sends a email to Person B (with a Cc to a mailing list) on 
Monday to say that he/she said something bad.  Person A sends a 
similar email the next day.  Person A sends another email, which is 
similar, the third day.  My conclusion would be that Person A does 
not like Person B.  Person A may have a reason for it.  Repeating the 
same thing each day does not look reasonable.  A survey of previously 
published information (re. literature review) will not show stuff 
like that even though it has happened in the IETF community.  It will 
not show up in the statistics.  The organization stands to gain from 
that as it makes the organization look good.

The following is from a 2021 report about the IETF's significant 
programs and supporting services: "Represents IETF's work to 
enlightens nonprofits and NGOs, especially those with limited 
in-house resources or from technologically deprived countries, about 
internet-based resources that can support the mission."  The amount 
listed for the item in 2021 was $2.1 million, and $2.3 million in 
2022.  In case there is any concern about conflict of interest, I was 
not affiliated with any NGOs during those two years.  I was 
affiliated with what one might describe as a nonprofit.  It did not 
solicit or receive any funds from the IETF Administrative LLC during 
those two years or before.  There isn't any information of how those 
amounts were spent in technologically deprived countries and how it 
benefited IETF's work.
