Hi Don - see below for responses: Thank you - Fred From: Don Fedyk <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 23, 2025 1:42 AM To: Donald Eastlake <[email protected]>; manet <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: Slightly revised draft Charter, this time really with color Hi Sorry I needed sleep last night. I think the charter text is pretty good but we need to work to get Jim on board - my understanding is he will not let us recharter - due to lack of participation from the WG perhaps I'm wrong on Jim's view so I think we should definitely talk to him before our meeting (either one on one or together). As far as participation in the WG: Fred's work which has no support outside of his company and >> There has been discussion on this list and privately elsewhere, so I don't think it >> is fair to conclude that there is "no support". AODVv2 which only has Charlie Perkins as an active participant. These items are both drafts that have a long history. >> In the case of AERO/OMNI where details abound, maturity is a virtue; >> not a liability. Hennings drafts are moving along but again it's a single author. When I spoke with Jim I didn't push back on his points because I still don't see we have new work with active authors. >> Moving AERO/OMNI onto a working group is necessary to actively >> advance them to successful conclusion. There is an unfulfilled >> need for MANET Internetworking that these documents address. The plan is, to the extent practical, to focus discussion on the changes highlighted in red. This draft Charter is very similar to the one I sent out a few days ago but (1) changes from the version presented at the previous WG meeting are really highlighted in red this time and (2) a few other changes have been made, (2a) most notably adding a clearer paragraph about data export through a YANG model, etc., to replace two previous more vague sentences on this topic and (2b) adding DETNET to the coordination WGs.
