I see no reason for the IETF to help mitigate operational complexities during transition for providers that are just now recognizing that IPv6 could be an "issue". You must have missed some of the discussions in the last few days. We've recognized it for a while, the issue is that the transition mechanisms that will keep v4 devices at home (i.e. CE, XP machines - big issue in China, for example) in an exhausted v4 world. The vendor community is just now starting to make IVI, DSLite, etc. CPE/RG available. Then we have to qualify, get into channels, etc. It's just not enough time, even if the vendors had them all available now (which they don't). Please don't assume that the authors and their companies (at least) have just "woken up" - the whole industry just took too damn long to get everything lined up for a v4 exhausted world.
