---------- Forwarded Message excerpt ---------- Subject: I-D ACTION:draft-lilly-from-optional-02.txt Date: Tue March 15 2005 10:06 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories. Title : Message Header From Field Made Optional Author(s) : B. Lilly Filename : draft-lilly-from-optional-02.txt Pages : 11 Date : 2005-3-11 The requirement for the presence of a syntactically-valid message header From field in the Internet Message Format presents a problem in some circumstances. This memo (if approved) amends the Internet Message Format specifications to make that field optional. Discussion of the subject matter covered in this memo has taken place on the ietf-822 mailing list, and that would be a suitable place for discussion of this document. A URL for this Internet-Draft is: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-lilly-from-optional-02.txt Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the Internet-Draft. ------------------------------------------------------- A change history is in Appendix A of the draft. As recently discussed, there is expanded coverage of security issues and syntax change alternatives. Some of the IPv6 references are probably superfluous, but I added them while researching the IPv6 syntax/semantics issues.
