Given the fact that such behavior is not MIME-conformant, there is
no reason to believe that introduction of a previously-unspecified
parameter with interoperability issues would be an overall improvement.
Or in more general terms, given some broken software, it is generally
more appropriate to urge the vendor to fix the problem than to cause
additional breakage, especially where that breakage impacts previously
conformant software.
