Re: Registration process for new URL schemes

I thought the suggestion that we should pursue a distributed
registration mechanism using a hierarchical method for URL
schemes had a lot of merit.

Here's a cockeyed proposal:

A URL scheme can be written as a DNS name in reverse order
with "-" replacing "."; so that I could use a URL scheme of

    com-xerox-parc-bronze: 

and compuserve could use
     com-cis:

And Fuji Xerox could use:
     jp-co-fujixerox-bl:
