As we have been informed by the responsible area director, new schemes get registered as soon as we know how to do that. Thus it's in your own interest to participate in this discussion in a productive manner, so that we can finish quickly. > As I have looked for inspiration, I have found RFC 2056, which defines > URLs for Z39.50, and Dan Zigmond's Internet draft for television > broadcast URLs. > > Where do you suggest that I input my proposal? This working group only discusses process, i.e. how will new URLs get approved, and what kinds of requirements do they have to fulfill. To move forward, you have to have a close look at the current draft this group is working on, and try to check all the issues raised there, and write them up in a draft so that everybody else can understand how you answer them. > The proposal outlines the URLs that you can see in my .signature. > As far as I can see, nothing like this has been proposed before. Similar proposals have been made in the past. And other groups have considered similar problems (e.g. the IETF Fax WG). What is absolutely not clear from your examlpes is e.g. what a browser is supposed to do with a "tel:" or "fax:" URL when it receives one. There are various widely differing possible answers here. > Lars Aronsson. > -- > Aronsson Datateknik <URL:tel:+46-70-789-1609> > Rydsvagen 282 <URL:fax:+46-13-172143> > SE-584 39 Linkoping, Sweden <URL:mailto:[email protected]> Regards, Martin.
