To be honest, this looks perfectly reasonable to me. As he
says,

    There's no proof, of course, but it must be one of the
    theories at the top of any investigator's list.

-- that's certainly the theory I'd have if I were
investigating the source of the thing. (Assuming that I
wasn't allowed to arraign Microsoft for negligence, but
that's another issue.)
