Norwegian campaign: Consumers Against Copy Control

This is a campaign against corrupt discs based in Norway.  It is
called CACC, which is a fantastic name if you ask me.  They have a
7000-name petition from their Norwegian page, and they have started an
international English-language petition now:

I've also heard from the director of a Canadian record station, who
had this to say:

  I am the music director of a Canadian radio station and I have had
  an awful lot of problems with these corrupt discs. We use a computer
  to play our music, and these discs are not making it easy for us to
  play the new music that we obtain from the record companies. (Sony,
  EMI to be specific) So I thought it would be interesting for you to
  know what I'm doing about this.
 
  When I find a corrupt disc that I can not copy to the computer, I
  throw it out. Why am I wasting my time promoting music when it's
  made so difficult for me to do so. Recently I got a disc that I
  personally like, but could not put into the machine, so in order to
  play the music on air I had to go on the internet and find a illegal
  copy and download it.
 
  After talking with a few other radio stations, and finding out that
  they too throw discs out and download from the internet, (secretly),
  I urge all radio stations to do the same thing. Seriously, it's a
  lot easier to get a copy from the internet then to deal with all the
  hassle of copy protection.
 
  And as if that wasn't enough, I'm also starting to tell people, via
  radio, not to buy copy protected discs because of all the problems
  they bring with them.

Consumers Against Copy Control is a petition with the intent to force record companies to stop releasing music on copy controlled audio discs. 

The reason for this is that copy controlled discs do not play correctly on all audio devices. They may not play correctly on:

 - PC/Mac CD-/DVD-ROMS 
 - car CD-players 
 - portable CD-players 
 - DVD-players 
 - digital home cinema systems 
 - game consoles (PlayStation, X-Box, GameCube) 
 - even some normal CD players

Copy controlled discs are not CDs. They use different type of technology, and record companies are not allowed to call discs with copy contoll «CDs«. 

The Norwegian version of this campaign has already gathered over 7000 signatures.
