Thanks for the update.  I've moved the report into the False Alarms
section for now, with a suggestion that Sony might like to sue the
manufacturer for patent infringement:

Note that Sony's patent diagram shows a disc with an offset hole, and
'heavy' paint on the whole of one half of the disc, and with the disc
thickness changing from around 1.5mm to 1mm from one side of the disc
to the other.  Rather extreme ...
