Hello,
I just joined the list to see if there's a way I can help with
support for the (dated) Compaq Armada 17xx series.
ACPI loads and detects all devices, but the fans seem to work in
'opposite mode', the machine is under the impression that the fan is on
from boot when it is not. My current workaround is to boot it, let it
warm up fast 80C inside and reboot and let the BIOS turn the fan on. It
work alright, but besides the annoyance of rebooting the battery drains
quickly with the fan constantly on.
Is there a way I can pull info from this thing and submit it for a fix,
or some other way to get this working properly. I've been trying to see
if HP/Compaq will release a 'fixed' ACPI BIOS update for their older
machines, but the last BIOS update was three years ago, so I doubt it.
