there's a bug in the ACPI patch that makes the 'keventd' takes all the 
CPU power (and so the general speed is extremely decreased). The problem 
is documented in my Debian's report page at

where you can also find a patch to correct it. It doesn't matter if I 
use Debian, as other users reported the same problem. By the way, Peter 
Suetterlin successfully installed SuSE on the same laptop, please see 
his report at

This bug is related to kernel <= 2.4.22, as in kernels >= 2.6.0-test8 
the 'asus-centrino' patch is integrated and you don't need other 
external patches. My advice is to use kernel 2.6.0-test8, it's faster, 
more performant and newer :-)

Another thing, please take care that this mailing-list (ACPI-support) is 
dead, for all the ACPI-related problems there's now ACPI-devel (you can 
find infos & links at ACPI's SourceForge page).
