Hello! I am attempting to install ACPI on my new Compaq EVo n610c. But now, I am hesitating, because I read articles like "Linux on n610c" which said, that you should disable ACPI, because otherwise the fan would stop and you run into serious problems. Well, is it dangerous if I install a 2.6 kernel with acpi enabled, or will there be the risk, that my processor will get damaged because of overheating? Does the Pentium 4 m has a thermal diode, wich prevents the processor of overheating, and does it throttle the CPU down in case?
