[ACPI-sppt] how can i turn off the screen

Hi,

I complied the 2.6.0-test9 kernel with ACPI on a DELL I4000. I read
the dsdt table with the pacpidump program and then  fixed it. 
The echo 1 > /proc/acpi/sleep command takes the system into standby
mode but it doesn't turn off the screen. I tried to turn off the screen
before the suspend commad with "xset dspm force off" but it didn't help
Is it kernel or dsdt table problem?
