Yes thats exactly the problem. I phoned IBM on that (for a long discussion until they got the point) and they say that it is a hardware defect if that happens. By construction, the fan is sufficient for cooling (as they say) and I am one of the happy customers that got an abnormal hot cpu. So I will send it in and get a replacement cpu. Hope that helps (but I cannot believe).
