Well' I seem to have a similar problem with Acer TravelMate except that I
log the temperature just before it shuts down and I get temperatures around
40 or 50C, which are far below temperatures I've seen it running at and
also far below any of the critical temperatures.  It actually seems to be
happening when the computer does nothing else than being idle ;-).

So I just thought (and still think) it is a bug in ACPI (latest version on
2.4.20).

Can you try to log the temperature just before it shuts down?
