[ACPI-sppt] IBM Thinkpad dead

Hi,

Maybe I am wrong. But I want to say this.

Two days ago, I decided to test 2.5.70 with ACPI support on my IBM
ThinkPad A20m. Since july 2002, it was running under kernel 2.4.19/20
with APM support without any problem. I knew the problem with i2c and
lm-sensors, so I *NEVER* ran this on my ThinkPad.
The 2.5.70 seemed to run perfectly, ACPI support too, S1 was working,
and battery and temperature also. But after some hours my laptop was
completely frozen. I rebooted it.
Some hours after, it has restarted itself. Since it was very strange,
I though it was a kernel which was unstable. I rebooted under 2.4.20
(with APM support).
I ran only five or six hour under 2.5.70.
Under 2.4.20, my laptop seemed to be ill, and it begins to restart
itself :-/ And after two reboots, I had a error message just after the
BIOS initialization:

0189: Invalid RFID Configuration Area


So, now my mainboard is dead, and I think this is due to ACPI and
ThinkPad (thanks IBM...). Am I right ? Am I totaly stupid ? Is this
possible ? Am I alone ?
