I don't know Gericoms, but there's no guarantee that just because the CPU
supports the C2 state, that the BIOS provides support in the DSDT.

Probably not.  It means that there is no thermal protection _under ACPI
control_.  Mine (Dell) is the same, but clearly there is thermal protection -
when it gets hot the fan(s) turn on, when it cools down they turn off.  If it
got _really_ hot, I have confidence it would shut down.

Not ACPI related, but indicating that there's no support for controlling
frequency in Linux.
