I am running 2.4.21-rc8-laptop1 (but have also tried 2.4.21-rc4-laptop0, 2.4.21 w/ latest acpi, 2.4.21-ac1) and ACPI runs great on all of these except that I must boot the machine when it has not been on for around 15-20 minutes otherwise when I start the boot the usual messages appear, I see 'Transition to ACPI mode OK' and then I get 'EVEVENT-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed event [00000000]' then the computer hangs for 2-4 seconds then a second message appears, identical to the first 'EVEVENT-0286: *** Error: No installed handler for fixed event [00000000]'. Now I have no idea if this is a specific ACPI problem but I suspect it is since it only does this when I have the ACPI flag turned on. I can provide more info if needed but no log file is created since it oops long before mounting any file system. More info can be found here on some similiar problems I found on google www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg171839.html http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0306.0/0117.html I am running a PCG-Z1A http://emperorlinux.com/ibex.html Thanks ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
