[ACPI-sppt] Power management problems

Hello!
I'm using an ASUS Laptop (L2000D) with a Mobile Athlon XP CPU (according to
/proc/cpuinfo). However, I can't get the power management to work.
/proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info says that power management is not available. In the
kernel messages, I get the following error:

acpi_processor-2108 [06] acpi_processor_get_inf: Invalid PBLK length [5]
acpi_processor-0899 [08] acpi_processor_get_per: Unsupported address space
[127] (control_register)
acpi_bus-0439 [05] acpi_bus_set_power: Device is not power manageable

The folks at Asus refused to give Linux specific support and redirected me
to a mailing list, so I hope this is the right place to ask for help. Now, is
this a problem with the ACPI implementation or is the BIOS buggy? I tried the
latest ACPI patch for 2.5.72, and I updated the BIOS to revision 216a, but
nothing helped so far.
Thanks for your support in advance.
Regards, Stefan Boettner
