Hi Sergio and Stefan,

Sorry for the later answer, I finally found some time to experiment your
suggestions.
The usb support in kernel config is set to M, it loads properly when
acpi=off .
I tried loading it manually after it failed when acpi=on, but then
usb-uhci would
not load afterwhile...

It looks like my PCI bus is screwed since USB doesn't load and furthermore,
the ethernet interface doesn't start either. Weird...

I saw this using dmesg:

Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A
of device 00:10.0 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin B
of device 00:10.1 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin C
of device 00:10.2 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin D
of device 00:10.3 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A
of device 00:11.1 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin C
of device 00:11.5 - using IRQ 255
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A
of device 00:12.0
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: Using ACPI for IRQ routing
Jun 28 10:06:19 localhost kernel: PCI: if you experience problems, try
using option 'pci=noacpi' or even 'acpi=off'

I tried with pci=noacpi but still got the problem with my PCI bus. For
the moment,
I have to stick with acpi=off ;-(

I would gladly include the full result of dmesg or boot.log if that is
needed to gather more
information.

Many thanks,

Luc.
