[ACPI-sppt] APIC and mobile athlon reboot hangs

I have a Sony Vaio with a mobile athlon:

If I enable acpi, the laptop will hang on reboot with the IDE led stuck.
I found the following bug report at redhat

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=62295

which indicates that this is related to turning apic on in the kernel.

Unfortunaltely, if I turn apic off, I cannot turn acpi on.

Any suggestins?
