[ACPI-sppt] polling battery blocks cpu

Hi,

This applies to 2.4.21 + acpi-20030619
on a Sony Vaio PCG-FX702

I noted that I cannot get smooth dvd playback on my sony via.
After some investigations, I found out, that the problem is
klaptopd. In fact, every time it polls the battery, this
will block the cpu for a short time (some fraction of a second).
In fact, "cat /proc/acpi/BAT0/state" will have the same
effect.

This will not happen when using apm.

Is this a know problem?
