As far as I know, S3 (suspend to ram) only works (if at all) with recent 
2.5 kernels. For S4 (suspend to disc) you need swsusp. I made some
kernel rpms which have both, swsusp and acpi (see my previous message)

Yep, I see the same thing. In theory I have no problem with turning apic
on, but then my mobile athlon will hang on reboot;-(
