[ACPI-sppt] Some doubts

I'm new to this subject nad I've started recently to get intrested in ACPI. 
What I would like to know is whether ACPI is mostly related to turning on and 
off devices or it has also to do with task management (e.g. scheduling 
level)... any suggestion?
