Hello, sometimes on my new ASUS notebook (M3410C, Intel Centrino P-M 1.3Ghz, http://notebook.asus.it/nb/m3n/m3n.htm, Italian link) when I start the kernel 2.4.21 patched with the last ACPI the kernel freezes and the only escape is the power-down button for at least 5 seconds. So, I thought to solve this problem compiling my own ACPI. I grabbed my DSDT with: - cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt - ./iasl -d dsdt and now I've my own dsdt.dsl. So, I tried compiling it with './iasl -tc dsdt.dsl' and here's the report: ===== Intel ACPI Component Architecture ASL Optimizing Compiler / AML Disassembler version 20030522 [May 23 2003] Copyright (C) 2000 - 2003 Intel Corporation Supports ACPI Specification Revision 2.0b dsdt.dsl 7599: If (SS1) Error 1037 - ^ parse error, unexpected PARSEOP_IF ASL Input: dsdt.dsl - 7609 lines, 262405 bytes, 3488 keywords Compilation complete. 1 Errors, 0 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 0 Optimizations ===== The problem is that I can't find this error (and how I can solve it) from the ACPI HOWTO by Richard Black (http://www.cpqlinux.com/acpi-howto.html), even because I don't know a lot of coding/programming. Could anyone help me solving it? As I don't know if I can already upload on ACPI's DSDT section the DSDT I grabbe, for the moment I put them at - http://luca.pca.it/projects/asus/dsdt.dat.original.ASUS-M3410C - http://luca.pca.it/projects/asus/dsdt.dsl.original.ASUS-M3410C If someone has experience the same problem and he knows another solution, please tell me.
