Okay here is what I can give you:
When running the command acpi -V
I get the message "No support for device type:
Battery"
Following that I get Thermal 1,2,3 and AC adaptor
information.
The one thing that might be involved is in fixing the
dsdt table I was told to change the references from
C11B, C11C to BAT1 and BAT2.

In /proc/acpi there is no reference to the battery. 
The only folders there are ac_adapter, button,
power_resource, processor, and thermal zone.
