I have used the Suse 2.4.20 kernel for my acpi
attemps.  It is already patched with acpi so all you
need to do is include your own dsdt table if you wish.
 Otherwise you don't need to apply an acpi patch.  I
haven't tried upgrading the acpi version and at the
moment I can't tell you what version is included.  But
it is included.
