Hello, Regnat Nikolaus wrote: > I've a ASUS M2400N and experience the same problems. Exactly, I think so because I experienced the same problem, not only *everytime* I reboot from Windows, but also when I'm using my Debian for a while and then I need to reboot. So, I think the problem is due to something about temperature, because the kernel freezes just after this Executing all Device _STA and_INI methods:........................_ Pay attention that this is the exact problem reported by Lindsey on his M3N after having installed W2k-pro. Well, me too, I've an ASUS M3N (exactly the M3410C), with XP Pro pre-installed. I've experienced this error since I tried to install Debian, so I don't know if there won't be without M$ OSs. On the other hand, I never successed to compile correctly my DSDT, even with that Lindsey upgraded on ACPI's site. I always got 25 warnings and I never had my sound card working. Well, I didn't use the kernel he suggested in his ASUS M3N's page (http://www.commoner.com/~lsimon/AsusM3N.html), because with the "normal" 2.4.21 kernel patched ACPI I can start /agpgart/ and /dri/ under XFree86 4.3. But all the rest is the same as Lindsey, I mean, I applied the Mike Hardy's osd.diff patch and so on. Now I can't try again as I'm a bit busy, but I'm going to make another test with Lindsey's dsdt.hex (to be completely sure). Another thing is that my DSDT grabbed in 2 different ways (from 'cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.dat' and 'pacpidump' utility) is different from Lindsey's one and even between the 2 different grabbing processes. Oh, yes, my bios is the version M203A from the ASUS's site. And probably the DSDT is different from different M$ OSs (but this sounds me strange). I've a report of my Debian installation at http://luca.pca.it/projects/asus/M3410C.htm.
