[ACPI-sppt] Mandrake 9.1 and ACPI on Dell Inspiron 5150

Hi,

I just installed the Mandrake 9.1 (kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk) on a Dell 
Inspiron 5150 and I'm trying to setup ACPI without success.

When I use the standard ACPI support from the 2.4.21 kernel, the system 
hangs after uncompressing the kernel.

I saw I was not the only one having this issue (see: 
http://www.lexip.ch/files/inspiron5150.html ). So I tried to follow what 
Harald said and I downloaded the patch file for the 2.4.21 kernel 
(acpi-20030619-2.4.21.diff.gz) and tried to apply the patch but I got some 
conflicts.

For instance, the patch file wanted to created arch/i386/kernel/acpi.c that 
was already existing and so on ...


Could anybody give me some hints how to get ACPI in place?
