Do you see an error message when swsupd comes up such as couldn't find
valid signature in swap or this is normal swap no image or something of
the sort?
Are you compiling acpi as a module by any chance.
Did you append the line resume=/dev/<swapdevice> in lilo.conf or on
statup so that swsupd will know to look for the suspend image?
