Hi there,

I have Suse 8.2 on my Latitude D400. ACPI is compiled into the Suse 8.2 distribution kernel, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. The laptop notices when it's plugged in and unplugged correctly, as evidenced by the fact that the icon in the KDE tray changes accordingly. However, the battery charge is always shown as zero.

When i cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info, here's what I get:

present: yes

design capacity: 0 mWh

last full capacity: 0 mWh

battery technology: non-rechargeable

design voltage: 0 mV

design capacity warning: 0 mWh

design capacity low: 0 mWh

capacity granularity 1: 0 mWh

capacity granularity 2: 0 mWh

model number:

serial number:

battery type:

OEM info:

Has anyone any suggestions for how I might start fixing this problem? Or has anyone already fixed it?

thanks very much,
