[ACPI-sppt] Monitor does not turn off

Hi,

I am trying to use the acpi stanby feature on my Dell laptop( Latitude)using

echo 1 > /proc/acpi/sleep.

After that system appears to go in the stand by mode but the monitor does not turn off. Any pointers???

I am using linux-2.4.21 with acpi-20030619 patch.
