I think so: as I could see from the ACPI-support ML, all the ASUS 
Centrino users (so ASUS notebook M2N/M3N family AFAIK, I haven't seen an 
ASUS S1N user yet) have the same problem (thermal/fan module and bad DSDT).

I disabled the /thermal/ and /fan/ modules, as if I enable them I got 
terrible slowdowns, even if I corrected my DSDT as at 
http://luca.pca.it/projects/asus/M3410C.htm. Anyway, when I enable the 
/thermal/ module, I always got 60ºC. What are the thermaltrip points? 
Where can I see them?

I hope I could be useful for you, as I like a lot my notebook (an M3N),
