Hi! I have a Compaq EVO N150 laptop with Phoenix BIOS Revision 0F10 (03/20/02). I've tried several acpi versions with their suggested kernel versions from the 2.4 series, and have got different results in getting thermal_zone/THRM/temperature. The reason why I'm contacting you is that at some point acpi seemed to get the temperature correctly, but it doesn't do that anymore. So with a kernel 2.4 series it would've been something like this with following acpi version: 2002XXXX-20030122 - Stated just that the temperature is 71C or 101C. 20030218-20030328 - Got the temperature (supposedly) CORRECTLY. 20030424-20030714 - Stated just that the temperature is 101C. 20030730 - Couldn't compile. So from 2.4.21-pre4+acpi20030218 to 2.4.21-pre6+acpi20030328 everything was okay in this matter, but after that this got wrong. I would like to know if there is some patch that got accidentally left out in the recent versions or if there is a reason something was left out?
