[ACPI-sppt] Error compiling with acpi-20030619-2.4.21 patch; need help.

Hello 

I expose here my problem:

1. I downloaded kernel 2.4.21 from kernel.org

2. I applied acpi-20030619-2.4.21.diff patch, and patched it

3. I am having problems on "make modules":
   I execute this command:

   nohup make modules 1> modules.out 2> modules.err &

   Here follows modules.err:

So the make fails.

What did I wrong?

I have a Compaq Presario 714EA, now running RH 9.A with RH Kernel

[root@SAL9000 linux]# uname -a
Linux SAL9000 2.4.20-18.9-alien #1 Thu Aug 28 00:25:24 CEST 2003 i686
athlon i386 GNU/Linux

I succesfully recompiled RH kernel enabling PM, disabling APM and 
enabling ACPI (in kernel, not modules: so KLAPTOP is saying that "Your
computer seems to have a partial ACPI installation. ACPI was probably
enabled, but some of the sub-options were not - you need to enable at
least 'AC Adaptor' and 'Control Method Battery' and then rebuild your
kernel).

I did it, something went better, but still the KLaptop does not work
(reporting no battery).

When running with the ACPI modules liked as KLM, those are ACPI modules
currently installed in my system:

But, I read somewhere that ospm is deprecated.

make place for a page explaining to dummies (like me) what to do to
apply and run ACPI:

I just seen it has been removed from the home page.

It's not so easy to manage with ACPI patch to the kernel. I'm quite new
to linux, but I managed to recompile the kernel lot of times. Even if I
am not a C developer (I'm just a Java boy :-))

What should I do to avoid my ugly laptop to burn?
