This is pretty wierd. I have a Dell 5150 (with the latest bios) I'm running 2.4.22 with ac patches on the newest version of slackware. ACPI detects all of my stuff like the buttons and so forth. I can even correctly "cat" the state of the lid. But when I tail -f /proc/acpi/event It is blank and it will not show the button pushes. Since it is not writing to the event file acpid does not work. I have compiled all of the stuff as modules. That is that buttons, lid, processor, etc is compiled as modules. When I compile them directly into the kernel it doesn't work. I'm thinking it has something to do with DSDT. But it is still wierd because ACPI is working. Meaning that if I cat the state of the lid it shows it correctly. I have tried the Devel sources but they don't work at all. Thanks Alot, ntlord
