I have an inspiron 2500 that I am trying to get working with acpi. sleep mose P1 works just fine. But I dont have any batter support, and the battstat_applet-2 that comes with Redhat 9 just crashes whenever I start it. I think it just may be bad because even if it does not work, it should not crash. anyway my proc dir is like this /proc/acpi/ /proc/acpi/alarm /proc/acpi/dsdt /proc/acpi/event /proc/acpi/fadt /proc/acpi/sleep /proc/acpi/power_resource/ /proc/acpi/embedded_controller/EC0/info So as you can see I don't have anything thats called battery. so I cant even check manually. I just patched my dsdt and put in the dsdt patch, and nothing is different. Is their some other place for battery info? Also, acpid tells you to use events, but conviently does not tell you what events exist, nor where to find it out. Any idea?? I been working on this for about 3 days straight. making small steps, but im not there yet... Thanks for your help!
