Hi, I installed "Red Hat Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS (Pensacola)" on a Pentium III desktop. After installation I cannot mount cdrom (whichever way i tried, i.e, mount /mnt/cdrom or mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/temp etc). It gives the error message: mount: Not a directory I used the same CDROM for installation. /var/log/messages does not show any error messages it only shows the message that IDE CDROM driver is loaded. I tried using kernels 2.4.9-e.3 (stock kernel on CDROM). Then I got the errata kernel source (2.4.9-e.16) and recompiled the kernel with IDE support as module. Still the same error message. But using the kernel 2.4.9-e.16BOOT I could easily mount the cdrom. I am attaching the kernel config file. Please help me. Thanks, Regards, S.
