Alphalinux clustering with heartbeat

Hello managers,

I'm trying to setup heartbeat with two alpha servers. While the package
compiled without problems I keep getting errors when I try to start
heartbeat. 'ps' and the log show that the master control process seems
to hang when it tries to open the fifo for interprocess communication:

heartbeat: 2003/05/12_14:09:58 info: AUTH: i=1: key = 0x120064738,
auth=0x20000307b48, authname=crc

/dev/ttyS0 (19200 baud)

heartbeat: 2003/05/12_14:09:59 info: pid 14193 locked in memory.
heartbeat: 2003/05/12_14:09:59 info: pid 14194 locked in memory.
heartbeat: 2003/05/12_14:09:59 info: Local status now set to: 'up'
heartbeat: 2003/05/12_14:09:59 ERROR: FIFO open failed.: Interrupted
system call

I've tested the same system configuration (RH7.1 + Kernel 2.4.20) with
two pentium machines and it worked flawlessly! So I guess the problem is
related to some weird timing problems with the alphas.

Any hints how to track down the problem are greatly welcomed.

Thanx,
Thomas
