Many thanks to all for your responses: Kourosh Ghassemieh Neil Dombrowski Angel Rivera Mike Jason Feilbach Alex Harris Darrell Lewis Allen Bolderoff Calvin Dodge Joe Radinger, and, Venkat Saravanan On TurboLinux and Debian: McAfee's uvscan and Sophos On RedHat: McAfee's uvscan, Sophos, antivir, Symantec AntiVirus Command Line Scanner, f-prot, Amavis & ClamAV, drweb, Panda Antivirus Sophos was mentioned the most and there were many positive comments about the product. Use: For several clients I have the Linux version (Sophos) of the scanner on the mail scanner scanning all incoming and outgoing mail and on a Samba file/print server doing periodic scans. I also have all the Windows clients using Sophos for real-time scanning. Sophos sweep on our linux fileservers, and sophos sweep with qmail-scanner and sophie on our mailservers. We use uvscan from McAfee. Our contract with them includes the use of it. Seems to work well, it has caught a lot of virii on our mailhub. uvscan from mcafee i dont know if they still provide the binaries, the actual viruspatterns work. you would need to have compat-libs installed, as mcafee didnt recompile their binary for new distros, but this is no problem. I use antivir (antivir.de) and spamassassin and so far I am batting 100% I run Amavis & ClamAV on our mail server.
