Stimits Brian Coyle Franky Van Liedekerke Chris Scheller Angel Rivera Brian Sherwood Sven Heinicke Ok, half of you guys suggested to modify the /etc/modules.conf with the proper options depending on the nic card and driver, and the other half suggested to write a startup script. Both parties are correct. Modifying /etc/modules.conf is the proper way to force full-duplex but the startup script is easier to implement if you do not know much information about the options you want to use with your nic card. so my /etc/modules.conf looks like this for a Intel 100/pro Ethernet-card which is loaded with 100MBit/full: alias eth0 e100 options e100 e100_speed_duplex=4 Brian and Franky suggested this site for further information: http://www.scyld.com/diag_index.html Sven Heinicke suggested to either put this in a boot script, or read the driver specs for the ethernet module you are using and set that when modules are loaded Thanks again My original question: > Hi, > > How do I force a full duplex on a RedHat 9 machine > permenently.
