openoffice and default application

Fedora core 2 x86_64.
After upgrading with yum openoffice to

openoffice.org-1.1.2-11.4.fc2
openoffice.org-libs-1.1.2-11.4.fc2
openoffice.org-i18n-1.1.2-11.4.fc2
on: Linux xxxx 2.6.8-1.521smp #1 SMP Mon Aug 16 09:32:47 EDT 2004 
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I have lost the default application for .sxc files (openoffice 
spreadsheet 1.0 file format) on icewm, kde, gnome

I can't find how to make openoffice the default application.
As this a machine is accesed throught XDMCP I need a way to do it 
system wide.
