Summary: X Windows chooses invalid refresh rate/resolution after
install
Product: Ark Linux
Version: 1.0 alpha6
Platform: i586 (PC, Intel)
OS/Version: All

Severity: Normal

Description of Problem: After installing the ArkLinux 1.0 Alpha 6 distribution
to my evaluation system, I was not able to start the system. The installation
completed properly. However, when X Windows starts, my monitor screen goes
blank, and the power LED turns amber, but stays on. This is a indication that
shows that the monitor does detect a video signal, but the signal is not in the
range of resolutions/refresh rates that the monitor can display.
The video card in the system is a Diamond Viper 330 (NV Riva 128) and the
monitor is a Techmedia 14".

Additional Information:
Are there any command line parameters that can be passed to Arklinux to
configure the diplay settings, such as the ones used in Knoppix Linux?
Otherwise, is there an easy way to coorect this besides logging in at a console
and going through XF86 setup, etc?
Thanks.
