Summary: console freeze / connection timeout in SSH
Product: Ark Linux
Version: Dockyard
Platform: athlon (PC, AMD)
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Affects: Overall Usability
Component: openssh
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
Description of Problem:
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
OpenSSH 3.8.1p1 + Kernel 2.6.7 up to 2.6.8
How Reproducible:
Login into a firewalled (using SSH) host where the firewall is either a
OpenBSD or Cisco (Both NAT and transparent).
Return of large amount of data like for instance "ls -la dir" results in a
freezed console and connection timeout.
The condition appers both in X and in console.
There seem not to be any problem with FTP/HTTP protocol i have not tested with
HTTPS or any other encrypted mode besides SSH.
Suggestion:
I have noted that this might me related to the RTC bug found in 2.6.7, its not
impossbile that the fix in 2.6.8 triggers this condition aswell.
I not sure what causes the bug, but it might be related to OpenSSL.
