Arklinux does not yet support complex drive structures in the installer. It
creates a swap and root drive automatically on every install. You must have
enough available primary partitions for this to occur. As I understand it,
you can have ea maximum of 5 primary partitions on a drive the rest have to
be extended partitions. Ark requires that both the swap and root drive be
primary partitions. Ark will also probably over write your grub
installation in the mbr and screw up the conf. Ark is ment as a full system
replacement, and thus you will run into a large number of problems
attempting to install ark in a drive that is already partitioned with
running O/Ss. Parallel installs work only with windows and dos installs,
where windows is present, not simply a windows based file system or
partition. As for unallocated space, the space must be unformated, the
partition that is unallocated should have nothing in it at all not even a
FS.

Thats about All I can give you, there are no current updates or builds of
ark, our ditribution is going through a migration stage, and many many
things are changing leading up to beta1.
