[ArkLinux 0000005]: k3b is trying to use cdrecord instead of dvdrecord

This is also a know problem. We are looking into it. It will either require
a new build of dvd record or  a new build of k3b.

cdrecord should already exist.. but it should be a link to dvdrecord.  If
your cdwriter is identified as /dev/hdc, then the kernel boot
configuration should contain:  hdc=ide-cd

When configuring k3b, you will need to choose /dev/hdc (if this is the
identified cdwriter) as the writing device.  If it is not automatically
detected by k3b,  you will need to add it.

As noted in the other ticket, dvdrecord is a modified version of cdrecord.

k3b discovers /dev/hdc automatically, but it insists on not being to able
to write.
When trying to write, k3b stops with the following output (translated):
* cdrecord returns unknown error (error-number 255)
* unknown error 255
* please send an e-mail with the last output to the author

/dev/hdc was an example, if you are not aware of it. Please ensure that
/dev/hdc is the correct block device.

Please believe me, /dev/hdc is my cdburner.
k3b recognizes it with description and serial number and everything.

My CD and DVD writers are marked as /dev/scd0 and /dev/scd1, respectively. 
When I try to use K3B, it returns the following error:

Though it should be noted that the parameters passed to the kernel are
"hdc=ide-scsi "hdd=ide-scsi".

We no longer support ide-scsi for cd burning. In fact, that won't even
work on kernel 2.6.x since the ide-scsi method was obsoleted by
hdX=ide-cd.

I did change the kernel parameters in Grub to hdx=ide-cd (see error report
above, with the ":-(" face and everything), but it still won't work.  Not
only does it spit out the above error message, but it also can't eject the
disc.  So I have to go to the command line under root to eject it.
