Hi,
I'm having problems with the installation of Ark Linux 2005.1-SR1.
1. The CD boots to install.
2. I select EXPRESS INSTALL.
3. Proceeds to create Linux filesystem 100%.
4. Displays "Applications are being copied" dialog.
Problem begins here:
5. Displays, "Installation has failed because of following errors:
Failed dependencies:
libsqlite3-3.2.2.so.0 is needed by apt-0.1.5.1515cnc7-1ark."
along with 7 other similar errors and then asks me to email these
problems to the address above.
I have downloaded the installation CD ISO image twice in-case I had a
faulty download, which does not seem to be the problem. I get the same
errors.
To check that it is not my PC that's causing this I decided to install
it on my older PC which yeilded the same results and that was a SYSTEM
INSTALL instead of EXPRESS.
My main PC is a Pentium IV 2.4Gig with 1250MB RAM. A GeForce 5700 256MB
graphics card is also present.
There are two HDD. HDD1 has Windows XP SP2 installed, whilst HDD2 is
completely free regarding space.
On a second boot of the CD I use the partitioning program that is
provided with the Advanced install and there is both a linux swap and
standard linux partition present - so the installation gets as far as
creating those along with some of the first files to be installed since
a small portion of the linux partition is used.
Any ideas as to what's gone wrong here ?
I'll post this email on the forum as well for any extra input.
Thanks !
Lee.
